Job Title: Radiology Tech - X-Ray

Duties & Responsibilities: An X-ray Technician operates imaging equipment to produce radiographic images of patients for diagnostic purposes. They work in hospitals, medical clinics, imaging centers, and other healthcare facilities, collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares room, equipment, contrast and materials as needed for patients

• Cleans and disinfects radiographic room and equipment

• Prepares patient for radiographic procedure: explains procedure, assists patient throughout the exam including exiting the room

• Follows prescribed techniques in administering specific x-rays in order to obtain diagnostic images

• Able to competently utilize HIS/PACs/RIS software programs.

• Prints exams on film PRN; participates in department QA program

• Observes patient and equipment during procedure-reports unusual occurrences and records patient condition as needed

• Maintains stock supplies and performs general office duties.

• Active movement through the work day. Standing, sitting, pivoting and walking

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program

• Licensed by the New York State Department of Health

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

• Flexibility to work overtime including off-shift duty as needed (evenings and weekends)

Preferred:

• • C-Arm procedure experience preferred
