Our Life & Safety Technology Group is currently seeking a VOIP Engineer for our Longmont office located at 1601 Dry Creek Drive, however this role will work remotely due to the current pandemic, but are beginning to return to the office in mid July.

The VoIP Implementation Engineer is responsible for the configuration, installation, maintenance and upgrade of Intrado's VoIP deployments. This position involves tier 4 support of application and network hardware from our NOC group. Our ideal candidate is someone that can:

  • Communicate technical concepts to all levels of individuals
  • Translate end user problems into actionable solutions
  • Be a self-starter and work in a collaborative environment

Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Implements, maintains and updates new and existing Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) network builds and configurations ensuring conformance to customer requirements and company standards
  • Maintain soft switch equipment working with vendor concerning bugs and testing
  • Conduct customer testing and turn of new circuits and customer services
  • Document VoIP network and call flows and maintain equipment builds including adding configurations for egress and ingress call flow
  • Collaborate with department contacts and appropriate customers in recommendations with system enhancements and specific customer deployments
  • Generate and provide analysis on monthly network element capacity reports for equipment that support the E9-1-1 voice and peering networks
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, MIS, Telecommunications or related field required however, equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements

Experience and Technical Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in network planning, network implementations or telephony with an emphasis in VoIP required
  • Solid understanding of TDM (DS0 / DS1 / DS3 / T1 / etc.)
  • Solid understanding of signaling protocols (SIP / SS7 / PRI / CAS)
  • Experience with MGCP and H.248 protocols
  • Experience with alarming (AIS / Loss of Frame / Loss of Signal / etc.)
  • Experience with Metaswitches
  • Experience configuring Oracle SBCs highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Compensation is expected to be in the range of $92,000 to $108,000 for candidates located in Colorado and will commensurate with experience.
