VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Lab Technician to join our 2nd/swing shift.

Role of Our Veterinary Lab Technicians:

The duties include receiving and preparing blood/urine/fecal samples for in-house laboratory analysis, sending to outside laboratory as needed, recording data into the medical record, cleaning machines after use, and restocking supplies as needed.

Detailed List of Duties and Responsibilities:

· Receiving, labeling and safely storing samples to be tested in-house

· Performing tests needed for the analysis and report (CBC, Chemistries, PCV, TP)

· Recording tests and then reporting the results to the DVM and uploading into our EMR system.

· Organizing and storing samples in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure the safety of personnel and integrity of the sample

· Cleaning and maintaining lab, including recalibration of equipment if needed

· Maintaining equipment records and daily work logs

· Prepare, care for, and dispose of tissue specimens taken for laboratory analysis.

· Clean and restock lab and pharmacy area, gather and place equipment and supplies in designated areas

· Filling prescriptions

Schedule: Full-time opportunity with rotating Saturdays (every 3rd Saturday). Second/Swing shift, 3pm - 10 pm.
