Position Title: Supervisor - Distribution Engineering
Location : Augusta ME or Portland ME, alternate locations considered.
Hybrid.

Salary: The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $118.5k to $139.5k

Job Summary:
The Engineering Supervisor will direct, monitor and evaluate the efforts of a team assigned to solve basic to complex problems pertaining to the repair, replacement, maintenance, and/or new construction of, the electric distribution infrastructure. The Supervisor shall be able to perform, and teach others to perform basic to complex power systems engineering analysis, design, and calculations pertaining to the electric distribution system. The Engineering Supervisor will maintain a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions while promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and efficiency in a manner that promotes reliability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to direct and monitor the performance of an engineering team.
• Investigate, develop, and present design concepts, determine alternate solutions, and create action plans to resolve issues or to improve processes and services of the distribution power delivery system.
• Work with the engineering team to propose and plan system upgrades.
• Set clear expectations for the individuals and team that align with the corporate strategic plan. The team will solve complex problems pertaining to the repair, replacement, maintenance, or new construction of the electric distribution system.
• Evaluate the results produced by the individual/team and be accountable for the performance of the engineers and the team.
• Promote cross functional teamwork on assigned tasks and projects.
• Promote and follow the Company policies and procedures with regard to safety, ethics and performance.
• In coordination with the Manager, Integrated field design, develop the goals, strategies, and supporting initiatives for the engineering team.
• Identify and make recommendations to resolve technical, operational and organizational issues within the Distribution Engineering department.
• Recommend best practices and/or process improvements within the department.
• Represent Distribution Engineering on assigned project teams.
• Direct, review, and evaluate the engineering work of engineers and outside engineering firms.
• Direct, follow, and adjust the processes, policies and standards related to the distribution system infrastructure to meet customer and stakeholder needs.
• Provide technical or functional expertise within the Distribution Engineering department and provide support as needed to Field Planning and other Company departments.
• Create and give presentations to corporate/regulatory/public entities with regard to projects and design concepts as needed.
• Follow the research and developments taking place in the power industry, through training and industry associations.
• Respond as needed to assist in storm restoration efforts.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or related discipline required. Advanced engineering degree preferred.
• 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the power industry
Certifications:
• Completion of Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination
• Professional Engineer license is desired
• Supervisory/Leadership experience preferred
Skills/Abilities:
• Demonstrated proficiency, knowledge and skills in Power System Engineering design
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to work with a cross-functional team to explain difficult issues, create action plans, recognize risks, and meet deadlines.
