Responsibilities:
The Senior Engineer, Infrastructure (SEI) ensures solutions are expertly selected, designed, delivered, optimized and supported during the entire infrastructure lifecycle.
In this role, the SEI will work as an Microsoft Technologies lead and architect (AD, AAD, Defender, Azure, etc.) collaborating with other system and network engineers, infrastructure engineers, and associates to plan and deliver directory integration with cloud IaaS, SaaS, company acquisitions, and other related projects.
The SEI will also work to ensure, in collaboration with the entire IT team, that all critical elements of the infrastructure are updated, backed up and have adequate levels of redundancy to maintain compliance with GBB standard operating procedures.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent job-related experience
Experience:
- Expert level scripting, automation, and configuration Management. (PowerShell)
- Experience with Windows to automate workstation management and deployment.
- Project based experience extending Active Directory to cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
- Experience supporting both internal (Active Directory) and externally hosted DNS platforms
- Proven experiencing managing complex DNS infrastructures with multiple domains, sites, and egress points.
- Active Directory Federation Services – Design, Implementation, and Support
- Demonstrated experience working within complex TCP/IP networks.
- Experience creating multi-page reports, operating procedures, and other documentation
- Experience working in conjunction with a PMO and being held accountable for deliverables
- Extensive experience with VMware vSphere and Windows Server 20xx environments
- Familiarity with the following Microsoft technologies: IIS, KMS, WSUS, RDS licensing, DNS, DHCP, AD DS, AD CS, WDS
Additional Required Experience:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms
- Working knowledge of IT Service Management framework and/or ITIL concepts and practices.
- Experience designing complex computing infrastructure solutions in a data center environment.
- Expert knowledge of virtualization concepts and design principles.
- Extensive experience with performance analysis, tuning and optimizing.
- Understanding of operational challenges and dependencies as they relate to infrastructure decisions.
- Sensitivity to security best practices as related to infrastructure and application architectures
