Our client is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer in Cary, NC.

Role Description

You should have experience with traditional and modern technologies and platforms such as AWS, Java, NoSQL databases, Python, REST API, relational databases, Git, JavaScript, Shell scripting, Docker, Jenkins, Terraform, etc. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the operational aspects of our public cloud environment, managing terraform, working with development teams, creating new support tools, and improving existing products with new technologies & solutions, play a hands-on development and design role in a rapid and dynamic environment.

• You like to work with modern architecture and latest open source technologies: Microservices, Docker, Terraform, AWS, Node.js, Java, Python and many more

• You take an interest in infrastructure resiliency and how your code actually works at runtime: OS, network, and AWS cloud

• You participate in forums, hackathons, meetups, and conferences

• You own your work by building systems to succeed in production, and you fix them when they don't

• Build modern pipelines(CI/CD) to automate, enhance and support immutable environment for applications in the public cloud (AWS)

• Assist in building data platform infrastructure (Snowflake , Talend) and pipelines to support reporting and data science needs within the business

• Support and improve our monitoring posture across cloud and on-prem application workflows

• Work with auditor and security personnel on governance capabilities for the company's cloud environment

• Part of a dedicated team to create and enhance software that enables state of the art, next generation modern applications

• Support practices like Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Test Automation, Build Automation and Test-Driven Development to enable the rapid delivery of working code utilizing tools like Jenkins, Nexus, Terraform, Git and Docker

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree

• At least 7 years experience in software engineering or infrastructure engineering

• At least 5 years of experience developing automated infrastructure build scripts within Cloud computing environment (AWS)

• At least 5 years of experience with Containerized environments like Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, Fargate etc.

• At least 5 years of experience with open-source technologies and infrastructure as code technologies like Terraform , Cloudformation etc.

• Experience taking technical ownership over projects, creating technical work break down structures and technical design documents

• Working knowledge of operating systems, networking, storage and other infrastructure technologies and concepts:

• 7+ years of experience in developing large, distributed platforms

• 5+ years of Agile engineering experience

• 5+ years of UNIX/Linux experience

• Experience working with Machine Learning and Data Science teams
