The Transactional Pricing Engine team at CH Robinson provides an automated pricing solution for a variety of shipment requests from our ever-growing list of customers. As a Software Engineer in our team, you will partner with Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers, and Product Managers to solve problems that will help us reach more customers in new ways as we grow to become CH Robinson's leading engine for transactional pricing. The primary focus will be designing, implementing, and maintaining optimal solutions to help us achieve this. You will also be responsible for integrating these solutions with the architecture used across the company. You will be joining a growing data science team and will have the unique opportunity to help shape the future of data-driven automated pricing.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with product managers, software engineers, data engineers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to translate requirements into detailed designs
• Implement designs into highly efficient products using the best technology solution for the task
• Proactively troubleshoot applications and identify performance and availability issues providing effective options for resolution
• Enhance performance of products, services and their dependencies
• Increase code quality through writing unit, integration, and load tests
• Collaborate with other software engineers and teams on code reviews, development infrastructure, and process enhancements

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years' experience creating applications and features in an object-oriented environment (Python, C++, C#, .NET, Java)
• 2+ years' experience with database objects in relational databases (ex. MS SQL, Oracle, Postgres), or non-relational databases (ex. MongoDB)
• Understanding of containerized applications
• Experience collaborating in a team environment
• Proficient with version control systems (ex. Git, CVS, TFS, etc.)
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and a high school diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency developing and deploying applications on Docker, and Kubernetes at scale
• Experience with maintaining high profile / high volume applications
• Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Experience with distributed systems and stream processing
• Have a growth mindset that is open to giving and receiving feedback
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
