Compensation: $ 480+ /credit hour
Worksite Location: South Campus

Overview / Job Summary:
The Adjunct Faculty Instructor provides subject matter expertise.  Additional responsibility to teach courses, adhering to lesson plans, meeting course objectives, beginning and ending courses on time as scheduled and adhering to academic faculty ethical and professional behaviors.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
 

Manages and supervises students in all assigned classroom and laboratory activities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.Ensures each program/class contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency. Maintains a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulates enthusiasm for those subjects.Evaluates students to measure their progress toward the achievement of course outcomes/competencies.Develops, revises, and/or recommends curriculum changes which meet the objectives of the course/program and improve student learning.

The instructor guarantees adherence to the WSU Tech Course Standard for every program or class, integrating necessary curricular elements, employing effective teaching strategies, and staying up-to-date with industry practices. They meticulously design each unit or lesson, submitting detailed plans to the dean and sharing them in the course syllabus. Additionally, they create and sustain an enriching learning atmosphere regardless of the instructional format utilized.

Education:

RN’s must have Associates/Advanced degree, required OR LPN’s must have Technical Cert, required.

Required/Preferred Experience & Skills:

Minimum two years clinical experience, required.LPN must have one-year LTC, required.RN one-year LTC, preferred

Has and maintains a current Kansas nursing license LPN/RN, required.Current American Heart Association or RedCross CPR certification and maintained, required.Yearly TB test and other immunizations or physical examinations as required by clinical sites, obtained at own expense.Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred, with pre-planning course work.Additional Requirements:

Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.Detail oriented with strong organizational skills where you can work under pressure to meet deadlines.Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.Ability to quickly learn & use personal computer and various software programs utilized daily in a teaching environment, strong Microsoft Office skills.Comfortable with course delivery method being hybrid as needed.
