Rocket Lab's IT team is responsible for how our global teams access information and run operations across our computer systems, networks, and devices. Our hardworking IT team is a group of flexible problem-solvers working in a fast-paced environment but who also thrive under the challenge of supporting all of our proprietary systems and people, from finance to launch operations.

SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Based onsite at Rocket Lab's global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Senior Software Engineer will help to develop the applications used to build our rockets. Our applications are used globally from design to assembly, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with all disciplines to ensure success! The primary tech stack of our applications consists of a C# backend with an Angular frontend. The successful candidate will be doing full-stack development across our solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:

• Build and maintain applications with users on multiple continents, used for business-critical functions.
• Work with all the different stakeholders to understand which improvements to our applications create the most value.
• Provide engineering support for application issues and monitoring of application reliability through use of appropriate tools.

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of professional experience and a bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or similar.
• Technical experience:
• Statically typed languages (we use C#)
• Modern TypeScript frameworks (we use Angular)
• Relational databases
• REST APIs

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with manufacturing and aerospace industries.
• AWS and other cloud providers
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Elasticsearch

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be physically able to commute to buildings
• Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Base salary is only one part of Rocket Lab's compensation package for this role. $120,000-$150,000 USD
