Security Administrator

Overview

The Security Administrator will perform system security administration on designated technology platforms, including operating systems, applications and network security devices, in accordance with the defined policies, standards and procedures of the organization, as well as with industry best practices and vendor guidelines. Work with Infrastructure Security staff in maintaining the integrity of our systems and data with a focus on security controls, risk management and resilience.
Responsibilities

• Configure and support security tools such as vulnerability scanners, host-based security software, patch management systems, and SIEM solutions. Recommending improvements as needed.
• Implementing and maintaining security policies, application security, access control and data safeguards.
• Providing guidance and support to employees on security-related issues and best practices.
• Developing dashboards that promote a proactive approach to security using designated security tools.
• Contributing toward achieving Risk Management Framework and Army compliance standards.
• Work with the Infrastructure Security Team, Solution and Cyber Architects to plan, coordinate the design, installation, and monitoring of cybersecurity systems and to ensure stable and secure operation of the organizations Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and systems.
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation for security systems and procedures.
• Handle day-to-day monitoring and operational support of security solutions, including intake, triage, investigation and documentation of security alerts.
• Actively participate in team meetings.
• Mentor others by offering technical guidance and expertise on tasks and projects to ensure continuous development of our team.
• Collaborate with teams to develop robust security procedures to enhance our security posture and ensure seamless business operations.
• Communicate technical security concepts effectively to all personnel.
• Ensure all security systems are up-to-date and properly configured to protect against potential threats.
• Stay informed about the latest security trends, threats, and best practices to continuously improve the organization's security posture.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience required. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree.
• Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to attain and maintain one.
• Experience working with system/network vulnerability scanning tools and common DoD vulnerability management & continuous monitoring tools/techniques/procedures (TTP's).
• Must possess an Active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent NIST 8140 certifications.
• Understanding of common DoD cyber guidance, operations, and TTPs.
