About Woodland Job Corps Center

The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) and hands-on training in the following areas: Electrical Wiring, Carpentry, Building Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Advanced Training - Culinary Arts, and Hotel & Lodging. We also assist students with job placement upon completing their educational and career technical training.

As a Safety and Security Advisor, you will play a crucial role in upholding our commitment to providing a secure and supportive environment where our students can flourish.

Responsibilities: As a Safety and Security Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Guardianship and Vigilance:
    • Maintain a constant vigil over the premises, ensuring the safety and security of all individuals within the center.
    • Monitor surveillance systems, conduct regular patrols, and promptly respond to any security concerns or incidents.
  • Emergency Preparedness:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans, conducting drills and training sessions to ensure preparedness.
    • Collaborate with local emergency services and agencies to enhance our readiness to handle any crisis situation effectively.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and the surrounding community, serving as a trusted ally in matters of safety and security.
    • Organize and participate in community outreach programs to promote safety awareness and collaboration.
  • Conflict Resolution and Crisis Intervention:
    • Utilize effective communication and conflict resolution techniques to de-escalate tense situations and maintain order.
    • Provide compassionate support and guidance to individuals in crisis, ensuring their well-being and facilitating appropriate interventions.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in safety and security.
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify areas for improvement and implement proactive measures to enhance overall safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Prefer Job Corps or related program experience.
  • Must possess a valid in-State Driver's License and meet Company insurability requirements.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and /or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
