About the role:

The Release Train Engineer will be responsible for the overall performance of teams within the ART (Agile Release Train). With superior communication skills, the incumbent will ensure that the epics and features are delivered with high quality, on time, and in alignment to business objectives. The primary goal of the role is to drive end-to-end delivery of value in an Agile manner.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate ART events and drive PI execution and delivery through Agile processes and ceremonies.
  • Facilitate PI Planning to ensure proper alignment of plans to business outcomes, and plan through dependencies internally and with partnering ARTs.
  • Represent teams through ceremonies such as Scrum of Scrums to remove obstacles and drive completion of release goals.
  • Promote continuous improvement and a collaborative environment in order to increase productivity.
  • Provide servant leadership and coaching to scrum masters and other team members to ensure development teams are adopting Agile practices.
  • Track and communicate overall train velocity and capability outcomes, with sprint and PI progress/burn down charts to management and stakeholders.

Work Experience and Qualifications:
  • Certified Release Train Engineer preferred.
  • 5-10 year experience as a Scrum Master in a transitioning environment.
  • 2-5 year experience as a Release Train Engineer in a transitioning environment.
  • Experience with JIRA is a plus.
  • Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
