Job Description

Quality Control Raw Materials Chemist Group Lead-Temple Lane

This role will be dedicated long-term to sampling activities. The primary location will be the Temple Lane facility with the ability to travel between sites when necessary.

Employee Responsibilities:

  • Collects samples and documents results
  • Reviews test results to ensure compliance with standards; reports any quality anomalies.
  • Complies with all pertinent regulatory agency requirements.
  • Participates in required training activities.
  • Maintains laboratory supplies.
  • Completes test records and reviews own data.
  • Calibrates or verifies calibration of instruments/devices prior to use.
  • Interacts with outside customers or functional peer groups.
  • May be responsible for maintaining a specific project.
  • May assist in validation of methods
  • Ability to push up to 500 lb. barrels of raw materials with assistance of a dolly, potentially multiple times a day.
  • Use PPE to gown into controlled environments to collect samples
  • Performs laboratory maintenance and housekeeping as assigned
Leadership responsibilities:
  • Coordinate scheduling, allocation ofresponsibilities, training andnew hire on-boarding process
  • Monitors the day to day operations of QC analyst staff
  • May support peer group lead operations
  • Participates in training of other employees.
  • Facilitate staff access to systems, controlled areas, etc. using approved procedures
  • Participates in productivity tracking and prepares monthly metrics and quality reports.
  • Assists in coordinating equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Participates in new hire interviews
  • Participates in the overtime and weekend schedule as required.

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate would possess:
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, adaptable, andapositive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Desire to work in a highly physical role that requires significant standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or other science-related degree concentration, orequivalent directly related experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

The work schedule will be Mon-Friday from 2pm-10:30pm with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, New York are encouraged to apply.
