POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ramp Coordinator leads and directs the airworthy loading of flights in-line with Company procedures and the guidelines of the G.O.M.

Job Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

  • Meet all related tier requirements for Ramp Agent in and addition to Inspect all pallets to ensure they are airworthy.
  • Direct the loading/unloading of aircraft making sure all locks are secure, contour of pallets are within aircraft contour and straps are appropriate, per Company G.O.M. Coordinate the departure/arrival times of scheduled service flights with company for timely handling of loads and offloads.
  • Verify door guard is in place for the purpose of moving pallets topside, on and off the aircraft.
  • Work directly with Load Control on crew calls communicating any delays immediately upon awareness to include any Customs issues.
  • Direct the loading and offloading of trucks making sure that all locks are secured and in position properly documented.
  • Prepare daily reports for the operation to include equipment, inventories and truck movements.
  • Report any mechanical issues to the loadmaster and or supervisor verification prior to loading aircraft. Maintain the ramp office keeping it organized, neat and in good order.
  • Establish time parameters with loadmasters to ensure adequate staffing is in place to work multiple flights where applicable.
  • Generate incident reports on Amerijet equipment damaged by employees, upon occurrence. Communicate problem issues to Supervisor for further handling.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • A self-starter is required, must be able to work effectively with minimal to no supervision.
  • Administration skills and proficient computer skills are mandatory.
  • Min. 1 year of warehouse experience is preferred.
  • Prior Fork-lift driving experience is preferred.
  • Prior customer service and conflict resolution experience is a plus.
  • Prior airline/freight forwarding experience is preferred.
  • Identification of HAZMAT Materials and knowledge of proper handling (Preferably).
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups' situations to customers, client and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding carrying out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to accomplish computerized transactions in PMI, Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, UNIX, Lotus Notre and Internet Explorer.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets Amerijet's insurance standards.
  • Willingness to work 8-hr shift covering 24/7.
  • Pass a ten (10) years criminal record background check for SIDA badge.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will not have direct reports but may require providing training for new team members.

Language Skills:

The employee must possess good interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions from managers and co-workers.

Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:

The employee is regularly required to stand, frequently required walk, use hand to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Required to work in confined spaces.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Must be able to work well under pressure. This position may require limited traveling.
