Job Description

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Leading direct reports, group leaders and their teams, and serving clients in technical settings, such as laboratories or manufacturing facilities
  • Demonstrate and promote the company vision
  • Coordinate scheduling & allocation ofresponsibilities, andnew-hire on-boarding process
  • Coordinates the overtime and weekend schedule as required.
  • Development of teambuilding strategies and initiatives
  • Application of Lean concepts to improve operational excellence
  • Monitors the day to day operations of QC analyst staff
  • Coaches, mentors, and supports the group leads and monitors staff productivity
  • May support group lead professional development
  • Coordinating and participating with new hire interviews

Laboratory Responsibilities
  • Coordinates training program
  • Performs laboratory investigation reports
  • Performs environmental monitoring, compressed gas, and water sample collection when needed to support department operations
  • Coordinates equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Performs peer review of data
  • Uses Laboratory Information Management System (LJMS) for sample and sample test result tracking and metric reporting
  • Coordinates microbiological productivity database and prepares monthly metrics report
  • May perform acceptance testing of commercially prepared microbiological culture media
  • May perform microbial identification procedures

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate would possess:
  • QC Microbiology and Environmental Monitoring experience
  • 4+ years of cGMP experience
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and teambuilding skills and initiative
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Experience with LIMS

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or other science related degree concentration, orequivalent directly-related experience
  • 3+ years of previous dynamic team leadership experience
  • 3+ years of laboratory experience (GMP preferred)
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time Mon-Fri, 2nd shift (2pm-10pm).Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, NYand the surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.
