GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

Working directly with the Director of Engagement, Program Director and other team members, the Project Manager, Engagement (PME) oversees the Engagement activities of a large PCORI (Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute) project to improve outcomes in patients with Asthma. The Engagement Project Manager will supervise patient stakeholder engagement and assist in development of study related educational materials for patients. The Project Manager is the liaison to the English and Spanish speaking patient partner advisors and patient advocacy group. Responsibilities include vetting potential patient advisors and mentoring them on involvement of advisors to a research study. The PME will set up virtual calls with the patient advisors and Director of Engagement to acquire patient feedback into all aspects of the study and study dissemination; Organize, supervise, and carry-out monthly patient stakeholder engagement activities and ensure ongoing engagement of all stakeholders participating in this project. Assist in development of study-related interventions and educational materials for patients.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for all aspects of stakeholder engagement; managing, coordinating, and building strong relationships with patient partner advisors and advocacy patient groups, provider and professional society partners and health policy and scientific expert partners. Engagement will include collaborating with all team members to implement the project.

2. Responsible for ensuring all program goals and related tasks and timelines (patient partner advisors and stakeholder engagement, project implementation, and all logistics related to reporting) are done in an efficient manner

3. Assures accurate and timely stakeholder and patient communication and feedback to all team members

4. Contribute to the content and development of study-related tools, interventions, and educational material with a careful eye towards readability

5. Manage logistical and administrative aspects of the project; compliance to budgetary and reporting requirements; compliance with Human Investigation Review Boards requests; assist with IRB procedures and writing of reports as needed; manage stakeholders and patient stipends

6. Serve as a member of the Operations Committee

7. Works with Principal Investigator, Director of Engagement and Program Director to perform other strategic and operational duties, as required

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED: Masters in Public Health or in another Social Science discipline is desired OR a Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of five (5) years work experience in healthcare clinical research operations
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations desirable
  • Experience with health-related, government-funded programs a plus
  • Previous management or supervisory experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of program management (focused on program outcomes), facilitating meetings and patient advisor engagement
  • Experience in community health education, health promotion, and collaborating and implementing health-related community-based interventions
  • Computer and internet proficient

    5. Knowledge of federal and local regulatory guidelines with respect to the conduct and fulfillment of clinical trial documentation

    6. Knowledge of community health, disease prevention, chronic disease management, and health coaching; ability to plan, implement, and evaluate health education programs; ability to identify and/or develop quality patient education materials

    7. A proven ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds including program patients, community and civic organizations, and public health professionals

    8. Must be flexible and able to manage a multi-faceted program with a self-directed work style, balanced with the ability to work collaboratively
