Position Overview:

The Process Engineer - Projects (PEP) provides process engineering support for projects primarily in front end development. The PEP works closely with multiple disciplines including Operations, Process Engineering, Process Safety Management, Project Engineering, Environmental, and Economics and Scheduling to develop project deliverables, ensure proper scope choices, and develop project justification. The PEP will provide engineering contractor technical oversight throughout the project through execution.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Business Development Managers, Production Specialists, Project Engineers, discipline engineers and other project team members to provide process engineering technical support for the development of project justification, scope, cost, schedule, and execution strategy.
• Development of scope of work, project premise, feasibility report, and design basis documents.
• Provide front end process engineering deliverables including process simulations, hydraulic analyses, preliminary equipment designs, PFD and P&IDs, and process safety calculations and evaluations.
• Provide process engineering support throughout the project lifecycle by providing technical support to engineering contractor, reviewing engineering packages, and participating in project MOCs, HAZOPs, and SIL Analyses.

Experience and Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
• 10+ years of relevant process engineering experience
• 3+ years of process design experience working with project stage gated process
• Knowledge of steady state simulation packages such as SimSci/Hysys
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards
• Understanding of how to manage critical knowledge and information to stakeholders
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• 15+ years of relevant process engineering experience
• 10+ years of process design experience working with project stage gated process

Physical Requirements:

• Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection)
