Position Summary:

The Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Children's Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Rheumatology physician to join a busy and productive academic practice. This is a full-time, fixed term faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The Division offers an exceptionally collaborative environment for the care of children with the full spectrum of rheumatologic and immunologic diseases. Clinical care is provided at the UNC Children's Specialty Clinic in Chapel Hill and the UNC Hospitals Children's Specialty Services at Raleigh, as well as outreach clinics in Sanford and Wilmington.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the nation's first public university, ranks 4th as a public university and as the 7th best medical school for primary care according to The US News and World Report. The National Science Foundation ranks UNC Chapel Hill 9th in research activity among the nation's public and private universities. The North Carolina Children's Hospital yearly serves more than 70,000 children from all 100 North Carolina counties for over 200,000 visits for diagnosis and treatment. This family-focused hospital serves as the primary teaching facility for UNC pediatric residents. The pediatric inpatient service has a 150-bed capacity and 5,900 surgical and pediatric admissions each year.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Rheumatology and licensable in North Carolina. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

The successful applicant will be directly engaged in the clinical and educational missions of the division. Experience with informatics is highly preferred but not required.
