WHO WE NEED


The Payment Integrity Research Consultant (all levels) provides the organization with business intelligence for relevant business needs to assist with the development of business strategy. The three major areas of intelligence focus are: market intelligence, competitive intelligence and consumer intelligence/research. The business intelligence function analyzes and models competitor and market data in order to provide recommendations to the organization to reduce the risk of business decisions and contribute to the attainment of Cambia goals and objectives.

Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed below:
Payment Integrity Research Consultant II:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Marketing, and/or Business
  • Minimum of three years of experience in analytic disciplines such as competitive analysis, market research, industry trends, data modeling, and trend analysis is required.

Payment Integrity Research Consultant III:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Marketing, and/or Business
  • Minimum of five years of experience in analytic disciplines such as competitive analysis, market research, industry trends, data modeling, and trend analysis is required.

Payment Integrity Research Consultant IV:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Marketing, and/or Business
  • Seven years of experience in analytic disciplines such as competitive analysis, market research, industry trends, data modeling, and trend analysis or equivalent combination of education and job related experience.

YOUR ROLE:
Payment Integrity Research Consultant II & III:

  • Complies with the SCIP code of ethics for competitive intelligence gathering.
  • Compile and consolidate competitors market information.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure an effective flow of information to and from the Strategic Market Insights function.
  • Communicate results to project owners, providing advice on action(s) to be taken.
  • Responds to ad-hoc requests.
  • Work with customer survey instruments and provide analysis of customer survey results.
  • Provide competitor and/or product and market data to improve company decisions and operations.
  • Manipulate on-line databases, extract information or data from sales channels and develop insights from the information.
  • Analyze intelligence on competitor value propositions and sources of distinctiveness including new competitive formats and offers.
  • Analyze and identify consumer trends and shifts in consumers preferences, attitudes and perceptions utilizing a broad set of resources, including secondary research with internal/external sources.
  • Develop and grow relationships with external business partners for the purpose of competitive and market intelligence gathering.
  • Lead projects and coordinate project activities for team members.
  • Operates without day-to-day formal guidance.
  • Works with other Marketing staff to help align the interests and goals of the Marketing Division with corporate business partners.

Additional for Research Consultant IV Level

  • Provide relevant and timely reports to appropriate internal audiences on industry trends and business drivers to determine Cambia's positioning vs. competitors.
  • Responsibilities include the aid and development of customer survey instruments; analysis of customer survey results; new market and customer acquisition research; design of new customer analytics; design of competitive intelligence system
  • Recommend approaches to define the market and methodologies, and identify gaps and key areas for Cambia to pursue.
  • Perform functions relating to strategy formulation, competitive intelligence, new concept development, strategy planning, and analyze, filter, and categorize large amounts of inconsistent data resulting in synthesis and characterization of information that highlights important points and emphasizes key issues.
  • Process complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and effectively communicate the related required actions to a broad audience.
  • Deal with ambiguity and quickly provide sound decisions and recommendations with less than complete information.
  • Develop intelligence on competitor value propositions and sources of distinctiveness including new competitive formats and offers.
  • Mentors other analysts to further information gathering and analytical skill development.

WHAT YOU BRING:
Payment Integrity Research Consultant II & III:

  • Ability to think analytically, apply analytical techniques and to provide in-depth analysis for potential recommendations to internal customers
  • Experience in the analysis of website user experience functionality, and making comparisons between competitive web properties is highly desired.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of the work force.
  • Knowledge of PC software and systems.
  • Ability to participate in a team atmosphere to achieve department goals and objectives consistent with corporate vision and strategies.
  • Ability to multi-task, deal proactively with multiple deadlines and shifting priorities in a deadline driven fast paced environment.
  • Must be familiar with data access tools such as SQL, SPSS, MS Access, etc.
  • Ability to transform disparate pieces of information into an understandable framework in graphics form, or actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret a wide variety of economic, demographic, geographic and marketing data, dissect opportunities and translate into meaningful and actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to skillfully identify and understand research nuances.
  • Provide mentoring to less experienced peers.

Additional for Research Consultant IV Level
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze and interpret a wide variety of economic, demographic, geographic, financial, statistical and marketing data, dissect opportunities and translate into meaningful and actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to rapidly structure, design and execute market and competitive analysis efforts.
  • Knowledge of health insurance pricing methodologies and strategies.
  • Knowledge of the product development process and product life cycle analysis.
  • Ability to understand statutory financial information and translate into comprehensible/actionable market focused strategies.

The expected target hiring range for the Research Consultant II is $68k - $92k / Research Consultant III is $82.4k - $111.5k / Research Consultant IV is $99.4k - $134.5k depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; performance history; and work location. The bonus target for the Research Consultant II & III is 10% / Research Consultant IV is 15% . The current full salary range for a PI Research Consultant II is $68k Low Range / $104k High Range, PI Research Consultant III is $77k Low Range / $127k High Range. PI Research Consultant IV is $93k Low Range / $153k High Range.
