Advertised Job Summary:

The PASOs Training Specialist, under the leadership of the PASOs Training Manager will develop, coordinate and facilitate CHW internal and external trainings as well as continued professional leadership events and related activities offered by PASOs. This position develops and delivers CHW specific trainings for PASOs and community partners. Incumbent is responsible for communications, coordination, logistics planning, and administrative duties related to PASOs CHW Core Competency Trainings & the annual PASOs Promotores Conference. Candidates for this position will need to be bilingual in Spanish and English and bicultural in Latinx and American cultures. Overnight and weekend travel may occasionally be required.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 1 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. Must be bilingual in Spanish and English and bicultural in Latino and American cultures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in facilitating education and leading groups of adults. Experience working with the Latino community in a culturally competent way. Experience in program development and planning. Knowledge of the needs of Latino families in SC. Experience in networking and partnership building. Knowledge of community engagement and popular education techniques.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Effective oral and written communication skills, preferably in both Spanish and English. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet. Ability to arrange flexible schedule (some evenings or weekend days) and to travel as needed.

Job Duty:

Co-development, planning & coordination of the PASOs Statewide Semi-annual Conferences, Annual Promotores Conference & PASOs Statewide Monthly Network meetings with guidance from the Training Mannager. Support the development of strategic plan for internal and external trainings. Performs needs assessments to identify training needs of PASOs local site CHWs. Attends conferences & PASOs CHW training sessions, facilitates trainings on behalf of the Training Manager when necessary.

Participates in the revision of current and development of new training curriculums such as, and not limited to, the CHW Core Competency and Specialty Track trainings and Monthly Community Educational Workshops. Conducts virtual or in-person trainings to cohorts and individual CHWs as needed. Assist with development of strategic plan to identify bilingual CHW preceptors. Together with the Training Manager, creates a marketing plan to solicit interested persons/organizations wanting to train personnel through PASOs. Assist with developing of promotional marketing materials for PASOs Trainings.
