The Paraprofessional Teacher works in schools with guidance from certified teachers as well as school administrators, to assist in differentiated instruction that meets students' individualized needs, including at-risk students, and supporting academic achievement. Typical activities for the Paraprofessional include some or all of the following: providing orientation services to new students and their families, working with students individually or in groups, assisting teachers, participating in parent conferences, supporting the needs of struggling students, monitoring engagement and performing clerical work.

This is a full-time position.Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position.   • Perform in-take function helping orient newly enrolled students and their families to programs and services;
  • Assist teachers with implementing individualized learning plan for all students;
  • Work with students individually or in groups providing supplemental instruction utilizing specific teaching strategies and an acquired knowledge of learning styles;
  • Apply classroom management techniques as required;
  • Monitor engagement; help administer and grade exams; monitor completion of online programs; help maintain student notes/documentation;
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents in tracking student progress making sure to share insights gained from working individually with students;
  • Contact parents and/or targeted student populations via email, phone call or auto-dial for non-academic issues as requested;
  • Assist with tasks to help at risk students find success;
  • Ensure that necessary class materials are prepared prior to class and, if appropriate, accounted for after class;
  • Participate in collaboration meetings, faculty meetings, professional developments to help increase student achievement;
  • Collaborate with school administration/certified teachers with tasks as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) diploma AND
  • Hold an Associate's degree (or higher) OR
  • Have Completed at least two years (48 credit hours) of study at an institution of higher education OR
  • Pass the Oklahoma General Education (OGET) test OR
  • Pass the Praxis ParaProfessional Assessment Test-Passing Score is 455

Residency Requirement:Must be a Colorado resident

OTHER REQUIRED Qualifications:
  • Experience with schools, classrooms, youth
  • Strong interpersonal skills with both in-person and electronic communication platforms and a customer service orientation
  • Organization skills, multi-tasking abilities,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point); general ability to learn new technology skills quickly
  • Adaptability/Flexibility: Adapt to change, is open to new ideas, take on new responsibilities, handle pressure, and adjust plans to meet changing needs.
  • Integrity/Ethics: Deal with others in a straightforward and honest manner, is accountable for actions, maintain confidentiality, support company values, and convey good news and bad.
  • Teamwork: Meet all team deadlines and responsibilities, listen to others and value opinions,
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background checks
