The Grafton Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

The Safety and Security Advisor at Grafton Job Corps Center plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our students, staff, and visitors. This position requires a proactive and vigilant approach to identify and mitigate potential risks, maintain a secure environment, and provide guidance on safety protocols.

Work Schedule: Thursday-Monday 11:30pm-8:30am, Tuesday & Wednesday Off

Responsibilities:

  • Security Oversight:
    • Monitor and patrol the campus to prevent and respond to security incidents.
    • Enforce campus security policies and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
    • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
    • Conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness for various emergencies.
    • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure a swift and effective response to incidents.
  • Safety Training:
    • Provide safety and security training to students, staff, and faculty.
    • Conduct regular training sessions on topics such as fire safety, first aid, and emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Investigation and Reporting:
    • Conduct investigations into security incidents, accidents, or violations.
    • Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities.
  • Access Control:
    • Manage access control systems and monitor entry and exit points.
    • Ensure compliance with visitor policies and conduct visitor screenings.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other departments to address safety concerns and implement preventive measures.
    • Serve as a resource for safety-related inquiries and provide guidance on safety best practices.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer Job Corps or related program experience. Must possess a valid in-State Driver's License and meet Company insurability requirements.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and /or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
