The role of the Development Department Summer Temp is to assist in various departments within the Development Division to accomplish their fundraising efforts.

The essential functions and responsibilities of the Operations & Marketing Student Assistant for Office of Business Relations are:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Written Correspondence: Draft and manage written correspondence, including emails, letters, and reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and professionalism.


2. Office Management: Assist in maintaining the smooth operation of the office by organizing files, managing schedules, and coordinating meetings and events as needed.


3. Marketing Strategies: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing strategies aimed at increasing the organization's presence and engagement on social media platforms.


4. Content Documentation: Capture and document videos and photos from key events and initiatives, ensuring high-quality content for promotional purposes.


5. Social Media Management: Oversee and manage social media platforms to ensure consistent and engaging content, including scheduling posts, responding to inquiries, and analyzing performance metrics.


6. Inbox Monitoring: Monitor the department inbox, promptly responding to inquiries and forwarding messages to appropriate staff members for resolution.


7. Miscellaneous Tasks: Undertake miscellaneous tasks and projects as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall goals and objectives of the Office of Business Relations.


EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS


This position interacts with individuals outside the university as follows: donors, alumni, students, prospective students, parents, churches and organizations through phone calls, emails, written communication, and video conferencing.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum Qualifications


1. Current enrollment in a degree program.


2. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.


3. Proficiency in office management tasks, including organization, scheduling, and document management.


4. Familiarity with social media platforms and experience in managing accounts for business or organizational purposes is preferred (this includes proficiency with key graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc).


5. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.


6. Creativity, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Communication and Comprehension


 Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.


 Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.


 Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business, government and community customers and associates.


 Strong organizational skills.


 Excellent computer skills.

Graphic Design & Marketing Abilities


* Proficient in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.


* Strong understanding of design principles, including typography, color theory, and layout composition.


* Ability to create visually appealing graphics, illustrations, and marketing materials that effectively communicate key messages.


* Experience in designing for various platforms, including print materials, digital media, and social media posts.


* Knowledge of Liberty University branding guidelines and the ability to maintain consistency across different marketing materials.


* Familiarity with industry trends and best practices in graphic design and marketing.


* Skill in conceptualizing and executing creative ideas to enhance brand visibility and engagement.


* Ability to collaborate with marketing teams to translate marketing strategies into compelling visual content.


* Proficiency in photo editing and manipulation to enhance the quality of visual assets.


* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality designs within established deadlines.


Physical and Sensory Abilities


 Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.


 Frequently required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.


 Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.

Work Environment


The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lit and the noise level is moderate.


Driving Requirements
Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is not required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.
