The AstraZeneca Newark Supply Site has undergone many product portfolio changes since it first began as Stuart Pharmaceuticals through today and is a key formulation and packing site for US and global markets. The Operational Excellence Practitioner is responsible for establishing and implementing a common site approach for Lean Tools, KPIs, and leading Continuous Improvement (CI) activities. The individual will be responsible for mentoring and building the Lean skills of the first-line leaders. The focus is to drive higher performance across the site through process improvement and deliver business benefits by implementing CI activities.

What you will do:

  • Support in the implementation of the site Lean Plan.
  • Apply Lean tools and provide coaching to individuals/groups on the application of those tools.
  • Lead, support, and facilitate Continuous Improvement workshops (Kaizen events, etc.) and other activities.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement throughout the site and lead/support those improvement opportunities.
  • Support Business Process Management (facilitate Process Mapping events and Process Maturity assessments supporting Business Process Owners)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years experiencein Lean / Six Sigma projects and programs
  • Working knowledge of supply chain/operations processes
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating teams and groups in lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement work.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Tools such as VSM, Kaizen event, 5S, etc.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to balance multiple projects.
  • Basic Project Management Skills
