Position Summary:

The Division of Oncology at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for an individual to join our breast program. The successful candidate for this open rank faculty position in the Division of Oncology will have clinical expertise and research experience in breast medical oncology and clinical /translational research.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers an exceptionally collaborative environment with very strong clinical programs in oncology and basic science researchers in breast cancer. The breast program has been a highly successful program for decades, with an exceptional track record in clinical care as well as health outcomes and clinical research with a robust clinical trials program. This program is supported by a team of professionals, including study coordinators, data coordinators and program managers. The breast oncology clinical team is also comprised of surgical and radiation oncologists as well as interventional radiologists.

As this is an open rank posting, the candidate hired into this position could be hired into a fixed term, variable track or tenure track faculty appointment.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

MD or DO required. The candidate must be board eligible, or board certified in Medical Oncology.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

The successful candidate for this open rank faculty position in the Division of Oncology should have clinical expertise and research experience in cancer clinical trials. Qualified candidates should possess broad medical knowledge and demonstrate excellence in medical practice. Preferred skills for this position include effective interprofessional collaboration and teamwork, and excellent clinical communication skills relevant to serious illness care. Candidates for this clinical trials-focused position should have career interest in the development and conduct of clinical trials in breast oncology, with or without a translational focus.
