Job Description Summary

Maintain chemical room, mixing of chemicals, dispensing of chemicals and maintain sanitation equipment. Assist on downtime paint crew, monitoring air filtration, air scrubbers, sanitation equipment and janitorial supplies. Assist in maintaining inside and outside of plant environment.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensure that chemicals that are used by sanitation are labeled with the proper C.H.I.T. tags.

Dispose of materials and wastes in accordance with the local, state, and federal regulations.

Maintain and dispense sanitation equipment and chemicals to each shift.

Assist in weekend clean ups.

Maintain general housekeeping in and around the chemical room, roof and grounds.

Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand or forklift, including dumping garbage.

Monitor and fill antifoam system.

During paint crew, prepare and maintain paint and equipment. Paint and assist in maintaining outside and inside of plant environment.

Change air filters and keep records, take air scrubber readings.

Stock and inventory sanitation chemicals, sanitation supplies and janitorial supplies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One to forty-five shifts one the job training, similar experience is desirable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Must also be able to accurately record information obtained while working with wights and measures.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a occasional variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid Washington Driver's License.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of chemical handling and chemical toxicity program.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

SAFETY: Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules including but not limited to the lockout-tagout procedure, chemical hazards and the hearing conservation program. Must have good personal hygiene and be able to practice safe work habits.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $20.86
