About Us
Brigham and Women's Harbor Medical Associates, a member of Mass General Brigham Medical Group, is a multispecialty, primary care practice with more than 65 physicians. We have several offices across the South Shore and are affiliated with Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center, and South Shore Hospital.

We believe that patient care comes first. Our physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and support staff recognize the importance of prompt, expert, and compassionate care for patients whose needs span from general health maintenance to treatment for complex medical problems.

Our Team
Brigham and Women's Harbor Medical Associates in Braintree is located at 1681 Washington Street, Braintree, 02184. This location has multiple specialties such as Gastroenterology and Obstetrics & Gynecology. This location also works alongside with the South Shore Endoscopy Center where procedures are done.

Are you ready to bring your talent to this team and join us in moving community-based ambulatory care forward?

The Opportunity
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support our Gastroenterology team onsite Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 5:30pm. The Medical Assistant will be crossed-trained to assist the South Shore Endoscopy Center where procedures are done. Medical Assistants would also be expected to support Obstetrics & Gynecology as well.

As true partners to our providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the care team. Clinical support staff members will be expected to rotate specialties, depending on their assignment that day. Therefore, the ideal candidate profile is an experienced, adaptable Medical Assistant who is confident in their clinical abilities and genuinely enjoys variety. We ideally aim to have our clinical support staff members working 1:1 or 1:2 with assigned providers, but they do cross-cover, rotate, and collaborate with other providers as needed. They can see upwards of 20+ patients per day.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office

• Assisting during office visits (rooming/vitals, examinations, procedures, immunizations, and treatments as directed)

• Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (administrative support, phone calls, test results, prior authorizations, coordination of care, etc.)

• Maintaining neat, clean, stocked, and safe exam rooms and patient care areas

• Interacting with patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner consistent with their needs.

We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned departments; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the building during orientation (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances (for cross-coverage purposes).

Qualifications
Qualifications
When hiring, we look for candidates who possess not only relevant qualifications, skills, and competencies, but also positive attitudes, empathy, and genuine passion for the work.

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Completion of a formal medical assistant training program required

• CPR certification from a program approved by the American Heart Association required

• National Medical Assistant certification preferred

• Clinical support experience, specifically in primary care and/or specialty care setting, preferred
