Job Summary

The Material Handler ensures department cleanliness, orderliness, and safety. The Material Handler also ensures the accurate recording of data.

Responsibilities

  • Listen and follow the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, and take guidance from senior team members
  • Assist with the physical organization of inventory
  • Return inventory items to the proper locations
  • Understand the schedule and the inventory requirements to keep production on schedule
  • Assist materials handlers with picking items required for production
  • Produce and apply appropriate signage to the different types of inventory
  • Update all related inventory data
  • Ensure work areas are clean and tidy at the end of each day
  • Ensure accurate and timely storage of product in the warehouse
  • When necessary to move product from one bin location to another, ensure this is done with communication with the Warehouse Supervisor and other warehouse staff
  • Prepare materials for production materials handlers as required for production
  • Pace the completion of all inventory preparation activities to be complete in time for its required use in production
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Good communication skills
  • Good reading and writing skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
