Manager of Medical Imaging directs the operations of the medical imaging services department at Shepherd Center including: CT, Radiology, Ultrasound, and MRI. Plans, organizes, develops, implements and interprets the program goals, objectives, competencies, policies and procedures including scope of services necessary for providing quality care and maintaining a sound operation for all modalities in medical imaging.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Makes responsible financial decisions and manages the budget for each medical imaging department including payment of invoices and maintaining contracts related to the medical imaging program.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with employed physicians, referring physicians and reading radiologists to ensure satisfactory service, assessing and resolving any issues or improvements needed in workflow/services.
  • Works closely with vendors to ensure healthy business ties.
  • Administers quality program and meets or exceeds key quality measures in patient and customer service (internal and external), clinical program, administrative functions, and service recovery.
  • Responsible for securing and maintaining ACR accreditation for CT, MRI, and Ultrasound. Ensures that PACS administration is managed effectively. In conjunction with Senior Management Team, works to ensure appropriate accreditation through Joint Commission.
  • Identifies equipment replacement and renewals relevant to the service line.
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of and insure we follow applicable laws regarding radiation safety throughout Shepherd Center including all medical imaging areas, Shepherd Spine and Pain Institute, and speech pathology.
  • Leads regular staff meetings and leadership meetings, also attends leadership meetings with other outpatient leadership lead by Director of OP Services.
  • In conjunction with supervisors in Radiology and Imaging, works together to help develop staff in performance and professional goals.
  • Works closely with members of Shepherd Center Foundation to garner good relationships with invested partners.
  • In conjunction with Chief Medical Officer, ensures appropriate physician coverage for all contrast-related studies.
Required Minimum Education:

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and a minimum of five years radiology, MRI, and/or CT experience required. A bachelor's degree in clinical or management is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of five years radiology, MRI, and/or CT experience is required. Supervisory experience is required. Research and/or PACS experience is preferred.

Licensure:

Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in in either Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or Computed Tomography (CT.)

Work Environment:

Frequent patient care contact, other Healthcare professionals, physicians.
