This position is responsible for assisting Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor's instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Schedule: 4am-4pm Weds-Sun one week, Weds-Friday one week, Weds- Half days 10am-4pm

Summary:

  • General maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production.
  • Operate all assigned electrical and mechanical equipment for the purpose of troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance also conducts tests of installed/repaired equipment/machinery and makes final adjustments.
  • Under supervision installs, maintains, repairs, and/or rebuilds complicated machines and plant equipment. Identifies all parts, supplies and services required to maintain equipment in assigned area and completes work orders in a timely manner meeting or exceeding pre-established deadlines to reduce downtime and meet production goals.
  • Performs basic electric troubleshooting such as fuse and continuity, down time, and meet production goals.
  • Performs basic electrical troubleshooting such as fuse and continuity checks. Position requires lifting, reaching, rotating, walking, climbing, bending, and squatting.
  • Work environment is cold, hot, wet, dusty, and noisy. Must be able to use basic hand and power tools to include drills, grinders, drill press, band saws, multi-meter, and other tools.

Experience: Must have at least one year of industrial maintenance experience (food industry preferred) with a single employer or be a graduate from an industrial maintenance school program.

Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills needed to read manuals, logs, blueprints, and communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
