Overview

LRP Media Group, an industry-leading provider of multimedia solutions for over four decades, is seeking an experienced Legal Editor for our Federal Division. This position plays a vital role with the website, cyberFEDS, keeping legal and non-legal subscribers up to date on important court decisions and administrative rulings involving federal Equal Employment Opportunity law and Workers' Compensation.

The position will summarize legal decisions and agency guidance in a format and style designed to convey the decision's impact to the reader without using legalese, prepare legal compliance features for the website, and add value to several other websites and eLearning platforms.

Based in our Palm Beach Gardens, FL office. Every Tuesday in the office or remotely available for perfect out-of-state US candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Read, analyze, and concisely summarize EEO cases from the federal courts.
  • Read, analyze, and concisely summarize Workers' Compensation and EEO cases from administrative offices.
  • Read, analyze, and concisely summarize federal agency guidance.
  • Produce legal compliance features for cyberFEDS.com.
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with other federal editors and correspondents.
  • Follow LRP Publications' style guidelines.
  • Update Excel tracking spreadsheets as needed.
  • Proofread and spell-check your work.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to internal and external customer inquiries, working with your directors and customer service.

Position Requirements

  • JD Degree from an accredited law school is required.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience with writing case summaries and legal research in conformance with AP and Bluebook
  • Required to work full-time in the office or remote capacity. Two weeks of on-site training are required.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, MS Teams, and Excel
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing to prove ability to read and efficiently summarize case law.
