Position Summary:
Mechanical Engineers at Kimberly-Clark initiate, design, develop, optimize and problem solve manufacturing processes in a manner that meets safety, quality, and operational performance expectations. The Mechanical Engineer for this role will provide leadership and creativity in design, development, optimization and problem solving for tissue manufacturing or converting. Candidates must have expertise across multiple technologies and will have a demonstrated ability to effectively provide specific project work direction to a broad range of team members. The incumbent will be located at the Chester Mill but may be required to travel to other sites as needed in support of mill projects. The successful candidate will report to an Engineering Team leader and will receive direction in the form of general project objectives.

Responsibilities:
* Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $10 million from conception through commercialization - 20%
* Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of tissue converting and manufacturing equipment and processes to meet unit objectives - 30%
* Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management - 15%
* Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and wellbeing of operators, maintenance, and other personnel - 100% (all the time for all activities)
* Identify complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause - 25%
* Assist in the development of others within the area of expertise - 10%

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
* Minimum of a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology degree from an accredited college or university
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a manufacturing environment

Preferred:
* Specific, in depth technical knowledge and expertise in tissue converting and/or manufacturing
* Familiarity with machine startups
* Experience working with external technical service providers
