What You Will Contribute:


Under the supervision of the Quality Engineer, the Inspector checks and inspects in-coming materials, in-process and finished products, ensuring conformance to company quality standards and customer specifications. This position is also responsible for observing safe work habits and maintaining cleanliness of work area.

Major Job Duties/Accountability:

  • Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits.
  • Troubleshoot print and bill of materials problems.
  • Recommend methods of assembly and production.
  • Perform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased part and finished material and products, ensuring conformance to specifications.
  • Test finished products for, dimensions, fit, and appearance.
  • Perform tests including hardness testing and holiday testing
  • Route product for re-work.
  • Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and re-work orders.
  • Process purchase damage numbers when incorrect material is received.
  • Ensure finished product is packaged and loaded correctly to minimize possible damage during transportation and incorrect product shipped.
  • Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards.
  • Communicate with plant supervision noted deviations of tolerances and quality.
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Qualifications:
  • 1 Year of Experience in a related field
  • High School degree required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Defines problems and causes and applies problem solving techniques
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Maintains open communication and positive working relationships with staff
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform a 40 pound lift test
