Laborer-Helper Temp (Shipping)

Job Summary:

Audubon Metals is seeking a detail-orientated and efficient Shipping Utility to join our team. The Shipping Utility will be responsible for assisting with various shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of shipments, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our shipping department and support our commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

• Assist in the preparation of shipments by verifying and packing products according to established procedures and guidelines.
• Accurately label and document shipments using appropriate documentation.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure that shipments meet the required specifications and match packing lists.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing of shipments.
• Ensure that product is stored securely and appropriately.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, following safety guidelines and practices at all times.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to shipping and receiving activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Self-Starter - Possessing the ability to be innovative and/or creative in their job; capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Mobile Equipment - Capable of operating a Fork lift.
• Communication - Must be able to read, write legibly, and talk to others to convey information effectively.
• Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Math - Capable of completing basic math skills.
• Visual Alertness/Attentiveness - Must be able to remain visually alert to surroundings in the department.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Must have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time in a hot or cold environment.
  • Standard shift is 12 hours.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, squat, sit, balance, twist at the waist and neck, and/or crouch to perform work over the duration of the shift.
• Must be capable of following repetitive work procedures.
• Must be able to function in a loud, dusty, hot, cold, or humid environment for the duration of the shift.
