Background Information:

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Jr. Procurement Associate to be based in our Arlington office.

Overview:

The successful Jr. Procurement Associate candidate will be responsible for the procurement of equipment, material, services, and products in accordance with established processes and procedures. They will work closely with the procurement team and department personnel on the successful execution of purchasing agreements. They will comply with applicable regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Operations Support Team, Subcontracts/Purchasing Manager.

All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate procurement actions with suppliers.
  • Prepare and submit routine purchasing correspondence.
  • Contact vendors and request quotes.
  • Negotiate procurements and establish fair and reasonable pricing documentation.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain records and files (both physical and digital) documenting transactions and compliance.
  • Regularly communicate with team members and internal customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or comparable work experience
Required skills:
  • Advanced and accurate Typing skills
  • Ability to draft routine Purchasing documents.
  • Ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly i.e., purchasing, and contracting concepts, regulatory guidance, and new technology.
Preferred skills:
  • CostPoint
  • SharePoint
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills
  • Thrives in a team environment, but capable of working independently.
