Job Description

Implementation Manager oversees the successful launch of a new Total Waste Management Contract including the operations, environmental and financial activities at client locations. Responsibilities focus on the proper management of all contractor and professional services associated with hazardous
and non-hazardous solid wastes as well as in-plant industrial services. Major emphasis on the creation of cost-saving through implementing efficiencies and the elimination, reduction and recycling of waste. The Implementation Manager will visit new sites as needed to develop and implement waste programs. Over- night travel up to 30% of time will be required to ensure proper set-up to fulfill contractual obligations.

1. Primary lead on launching/implementing new Total Waste Management Contracts that includes:
● Travel (2+ days/week) to jobsite during approximately the first 90-120 days of contract
● Coordinates with third party vendors and internal Veolia local teams to launch waste services
● Ensure that vendors deliver services bid at the quoted rates
● Works with Third Party Manager to ensure contracts with subcontractors are in place
● Works with Finance Team to set up billing
● Works in internal systems to setup Price Books and enter pricing
● Reviews baseline accuracy vs. proposal/bid
○ Develops Implementation Plan; Milestone dates required
○ Tracks overall launch status via Implementation Plan

2. Responsible for contract conformance during launch period
3. Communicates effectively with customer and internal stakeholders during implementation.
4. Serves as interim Site/Project Manager
a. Enters job tickets into internal tracking systems as needed during implementation.
5. Trains Site/Project Manager in all elements of Total Waste Management Contracts including:
● Data Management including setting up our internal tracking system
● Waste Characterization:
○ Identifies and characterizes wastes.
○ Prepares containers for proper DOT shipment.

○ Prepares shipping paperwork including manifests and LDR's for all shipments of waste.

● Coordinates scheduling and pickup of waste for third party disposal.
● Ensures that all duties are performed in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies governing the proper management of solid and hazardous waste
● Third party vendor management
● Financials-Analyzes financial performance of new contracts
● Customer relations
● Manages technicians associated with their specific contract (where applicable)
● Share best practices
● Assists with implementation of our management practices such as development of Operations Manuals, Waste Management Plans, etc.
● Develop and implement plans and projects focusing on the reduction, reuse and recycling of waste generated by manufacturing, pollution control and maintenance operations
● Customer specific requirements
● Veolia specific requirements
● Communicates with clients, subcontractors and supervisors, any changes or discrepancies in contract and/or subcontract requirements.

6. Backfills during vacancies/leave for Site/Project Manager
7. Special projects as applicable

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background

● Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies/Science or related field from an accredited institution preferred or equivalent experience
● Minimum 5 (five) years of experience in the total waste management industry preferred
● Ability to travel up to 30%, including overnight stays.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

● Strong communication and organization skills are required.
● Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
● Demonstrate good attention to detail
● Able to meet stringent deadlines
● Proficient with computers

Required Certification /Licenses /Training

● RCRA and DOT Training per 40 and 49
● CFR40 hour HAZWOPER
● Veolia Technical Services hazardous waste for generator's training
● Valid driver's license
