Job Description
Position Purpose:
Student Exploration and Experience Development (SEED) is a 10-week internship opportunity at Veolia for students to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and ecological transformation. They will work on real-world projects, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and participate in workshops and networking events. The program aims to nurture talent, promote innovation, and foster meaningful connections between students and industry professionals. Overall, the SEED program provides students with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to make a positive impact in the industry.
Internship dates: June 17th, 2024- August 23rd, 2024
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
THIS IS AN HR role:
Based in Paramus
Likely do a rotation to be able to learn shared services functions
Back office support, reply to inquiries from the field
Process invoicing
Rotation would include support/learning more about benefits, compensation and total rewards
Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as required
Updating our internal databases with new employee information like contact details and employment forms.
Assist with the administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs for company personnel
Collaborate with payroll department on compensation, wellness and benefits teams.
Provide timely and accurate customer service in interactions with HR field personnel and employees.
Support the creation of process documentation for HR related operations
Participate in Corporate training programs as needed
Assist in coordinating sustainability and corporate events
Requirements:
Qualified candidates pursuing an Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
Excellent analytical, cognitive and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to details
Excellent verbal and written skills; superior PC, Windows, Google and MS Office products
Fluency in oral and written English
Work Environment:
Environments vary by Internship/Co-Op function from office to field to plant. Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern. While we may extend offers to some interns/co-ops, there is no guarantee of a job offer at the end of the work period.
