Georgia Water Client Lead

What We're Looking For: 

This is a leadership role and is critical to the strategicobjectives of the Water Business Unit (BU): to collaborate with the Client ServiceLeaders (CSLs) and Water team members to grow our Water practice and deliverprojects for our clients.  As such, this role includes a combination ofproject management and business development (BD) responsibilities. Specifically,this role will assist in developing and implementing a strategic Water focused BDplan for the geography in collaboration with the CSL; leveraging thecandidate's utility operations experience to drive that market's growth;serving as the key point of contact with select clients, leading the projectpursuit process in concert with the CSL, Water staff, and Marketing; trackingand working with the CSLs to keep Cosential updated; serving as the projectmanager for key client projects; and leading a team in delivering projects.  This role is expected to have strong leadership abilities and peopleskills.

Responsibilities for this position include:

General:

  • The GA WCL is responsible to both the CSL and Water Business Development Director and reports directly to the Business Unit Director (BUD).
  • Develop a knowledge of the client's business operations, identify decision makers, and understand who Barge is competing against for the client's work.
  • Develop the strategy for growing the Water market (planning and design services for Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater) in the geography.
  • Work with Barge's Management Consulting group to develop a plan for marketing utility operations assistance.

Client Service Management:

  • Serve as the key point of contact for select clients
  • Collaborate with the CSL team in the development and implementation of a Client Plan for their respective client(s).
  •  Develop and maintain relationships with key staff in the client's organization.
  • Status the Client plan(s) regularly to drive actions and accountability.
  • Understand the status of client projects Barge is delivering.
  • Keep Cosential (CRM tool used by Barge) updated and relevant so Water has an accurate projection of opportunities.

Project Management:

  • Work with Water's Director of Projects, CSLs, and Technical Managers to develops & negotiate scopes and fees for client projects.
  • Prepares and establishes Project Management Plans involving multiple Business Units and/or multiple offices.
  •  Performs activities identified with Project Manager

Pursuits:

  • Identify opportunities within client organization and develop a win plan in collaboration with the CSL to capture the opportunity.
  • Participate in the go/stop process.
  • Coordinate with Marketing so they are away of upcoming proposals.
  • Build Barge's brand with the client.

Proposal Development:

  • Lead proposal preparation with support from Marketing, CSL, and Water.
  • Work with WL and CSL to determine win-themes, representative project pages and staffing plans.
  • Work with the CSL and Proposal Coordinator to develop the Proposal Workplan for each competitive proposal for the client.

 Education & Experience Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited program.
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience.
  • Ability to effectively guide, lead, and motivate employees.
  • Strategic agility - Anticipates future trends and implications accurately. Creates competitive strategies that show a clear connection between vision and action. Balances short-term results with long-term thinking
  • Effectively partner with business and project teams to meet objectives within and outside of the business unit.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions guided by Business Unit and firm strategy.
  • Sets priorities and reconciles information from competing interests.
