What You've Accomplished

You have completed a BS in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You have strong technical problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, have worked in an engineering role for at least 0-2 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

You may have also acquired the following skills:
  • Previous internship/co-op experience in field of study
  • Experience or coursework demonstrating a working knowledge of reactor physics and thermal-hydraulics phenomena.
  • Experience with software development with C, C++, Fortran, or Python code development.
  • Experience with computer model development and application (e.g. SERPENT, MCNP, SCALE, CASMO, SIMULATE or other nuclear industry analysis code).
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and coordinate activities among the diverse groups within Framatome and with customers.
  • Experience working with engineering workstation computers and LINUX operating environments
Your Opportunity

As an Early Career Neutronics Codes and Methods Engineer in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include:
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop software and company products which support the design and licensing of Framatome fuel.
  • Program new or revise existing software based on technical and performance objectives of a project.
  • Perform licensing assessments for Framatome fuel design and methods.
  • Develop and benchmark models used in licensing assessments.
  • Interface with U.S. regulations to license Framatome reactor core design and methods.
This position requires occasional travel. Together we will enable clean, safe, and economical low-carbon energy to meet the global ambition for a better tomorrow.

This opportunity is in Richland, Washington

Richland is located in the Columbia River basin in southeastern Washington a few hours east of Seattle. After work, the Richland, Kennewick, Pasco Tri-cities area offers a variety of water sports and fabulous fishing. A short drive puts you in the beautiful Cascade Mountains. With very little rainfall annually, you can enjoy the outdoors year-round. Framatome's Richland, WA facility is a licensed nuclear fuel manufacturing site and complies with US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and US Department of Energy (DOE) regulations. This position is safety-sensitive and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening is required.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $70,000 - $91,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
