Location/Division: South San Francisco, CA Clinical Next Generation Sequencing Division

The Director, Product Management will lead software teams responsible for Platform Software, Reporting Software, and Software Support in the Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Division's (CSD) in the Life Sciences Group (LSG) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. In this critical role, the individual will help shape the product roadmap and future informatics strategy. This individual will lead a team focused on developing and managing the complete portfolio of RUO and IVD NGS Software including Genexus Software, Torrent Suite Software and Ion Reporter Software.

What will you do?

  • Lead the Software Product Management and Software Support team to deliver new products and drive prioritization of critical sustaining activities.
  • Work Collaboratively to build software for critical application drivers in the CSD Oncology business.
  • Lead VOC activities for UI/UX and advanced data analytic tools that improve the clinical NGS customer experience.
  • Define Cloud Reporting Strategy.
  • Assist market development in creation of critical customer facing content.
  • Lead teams through new product development processes from concept through commercialization, including voice of customer research, definition of customer and product requirements and value proposition, manage product launches and sales training to achieve timely launches and commercial objectives.
  • Must have proven ability to work in a highly matrixed organization with stakeholders in R&D, Sales, and Program Management.
  • Executive level communication experience required.
Leadership:
  • Provide thought leadership to define overall CSD Software Product Roadmap.
  • Collaborate with CSD leadership to successfully commercialize new products.
  • Key decision maker for prioritization of customer requirements for new software products and sustaining initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other Thermo Fisher organizations to leverage existing capabilities and resources, including quality management and cybersecurity teams.
How will you get here?

Education

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree, or higher preferred

Experience
  • 10+ years of direct NGS software product management or marketing experience in the diagnostics, genomics, or medical devices industry; Next generation sequencing experience required.
  • In-depth NGS Software market experience, with familiarity of the diagnostics and research industry preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% including international.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $192,100.00-$288,100.00.
