The Director of Corporate Strategy operates as an internal consultant driving strategy initiatives and execution in collaboration with business and functional leaders and teams. Define, support and drive HBI strategic initiatives that impact all aspects of the enterprise to drive growth and build strong organizational capabilities. Evolve the strategic plan by identifying and driving new strategic initiatives to ensure the company realizes its long term strategic and financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop insights and strategic perspectives on new opportunities; structure initiatives; test hypotheses and adapt; develop recommendations and action plan for initiative
  • Collaborate with senior leaders in the organization to develop transformation initiatives, including merchandise and channel growth, accelerated innovation, portfolio optimization
  • Lead and support initiative teams to develop objective-driven cross-functional project plans; manage scope, schedule, prioritization and KPIs; analyze issues and facilitate decisions to maintain project execution; accelerate plans working well and evolve plans that are off-track
  • Lead a matrixed organization to achieve project deliverables in a timely manner and identify/improve process bottlenecks and overall organizational effectiveness
  • Conduct market, competitive, and internal analysis to identify new growth opportunities (organic and inorganic) or operational performance initiatives
  • Develop perspectives on the longer term direction of the sector and influence the enterprise direction and strategic roadmap
    • Support the identification of category "white space" opportunities
    • Monitor competitor trends and define actions to defend against competitor actions
  • Refine the scope, define, and lead key initiatives that support the Annual Operating Plan, Long-Range Plan, and HBI overall strategy

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Marketing, or related field with 4+ years relevant work experience including prior management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field with 10+ years relevant work experience including prior management experience
  • 14+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree
  • At least 5 years of experience with a leading strategy consulting firm, preferably in consumer-focused verticals
  • Strategic thinker with deep experience in problem solving, insight generation, and quantitative analysis
  • Strong experience developing and driving strategic initiatives with an ability to influence action with structured communication
  • Deep analytical rigor and critical thinking, including intellectual curiosity and ability to "connect the dots"
  • Consumer-focused balanced with deep financial acumen
  • Strategic planning and project management expertise are core requirements; experience with corporate transformations is a plus
  • Strong project management and delivery skills, with ability to manage multiple time-sensitive initiatives
  • Ability to disaggregate a problem or project, structure analysis and frameworks, and coach others to execute
  • An accomplished communicator in discussions and presenting, with ability to structure effective presentations
  • Agent of change to influence and align perspectives and prepare people and organizations to act with urgency
  • Energy and edge that serve as catalyst for action and change in the organization
  • Executive presence with a credible, persuasive appearance
  • Collaborative work style with assertiveness to influence and energize a global organization
  • Strong communicator with excellent presentation, written and verbal skills
