Provides clinical data services (daily abstraction, entry, and routine updates) for the Urology Department's clinical databases, specific to bladder cancer, fulfilling requests in a timely manner; acts as a certified honest broker; abstracts data from the medical record or other institutional sources and accurately enters into a data collection system. Works with faculty, staff, and all levels of trainees in utilizing the data to support clinical inquiry as deemed necessary. Monitors data collection system for consistency and completeness. Provides, organizes, and maintains all documentation of data, data definitions, and data requests. Corresponds with internal and external investigators to determine their data requirements. Works under the direction of the Senior Research Specialist and Biostatistician within the department.
Starting salary for this position is $48,603 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time professional experience; or
2. Associate's degree and the equivalent of four (4) years of professional experience.
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
The preferred candidate will be proficient in the collection, entry, and quality checks of clinical data with at least 2 years of experience, proven ability to work with medium to large data sets primarily in Microsoft Excel, proficiency in the use of REDCap managing online databases, is comfortable with working with physicians and other research personnel in a professional environment, and has familiarity with medical terminology gained through work experience in health care setting (Urology experience highly preferred)
