Job Description
The incumbent will provide a wide range of support to the Penn Statistical Imaging and Visualization Endeavor (PennSIVE) and to the Vice Chair for Education within the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics.
Activities for the PennSIVE Center include: coordination of regular seminar series, invite/schedule speakers, coordinate travel arrangements and itineraries, process reimbursements for speakers, escort visitors, and disseminate digital and print advertising. The person in this role will provide customized administrative support to faculty within the PennSIVE Center, including: calendar support, coordinating meetings, travel arrangements, reimbursements, postdoctoral recruitment, as well as proofread/edit/format/file correspondence including, but not limited to, CVs, biosketches, manuscripts, and grants. Assist with figures, presentations, and research manuscript preparations. Maintain center website and assist with electronic communication within and outside of the center (Slack/Twitter/Listservs). This person will also serve as the primary point of contact for staff and researchers within the center.
This role will also provide administrative support for the Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics. S/he will assist the Vice Chair with educational activities including the development of new educational initiatives and training programs offered by the Department. Compose draft letters for educational officer for faculty appointment and promotion process. This person will provide administrative support to the Vice Chair by providing calendar support, coordinating meetings, making travel arrangements and facilitating reimbursements, as well as proofread/edit/format/file correspondence including, but not limited to, CVs, biosketches, and manuscripts.
Overall, this position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in addition to attention to detail as there will be extensive email and telephone contact at multiple levels, both internal and external to the University and routine correspondence to outside faculty, vendors and other constituencies.
Position is contingent upon funding.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years of increasingly responsible administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Candidate should be organized, professional, and have the ability to multi-task. Experience in a biomedical setting preferred. This position requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in an environment with competing deadlines and priorities. Strong oral and written communication skills, advanced level computing skills including all facets of Microsoft Office, and the ability to effectively utilize online resources are required. Knowledge of Concur and BEN Financials is highly desirable.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
