Position Overview

This position is responsible for supporting the management of HMA paving projects from start to finish through coordination with the Project Manager(s). They will maintain a clear line of communication with the PM regarding the status of projects to which they are assigned and assist with tasks assigned to them.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Promote Safety and take active role in addressing concerns and advancing Safety on projects.
  • Attend preconstruction meeting with customers, engineers & subcontractors.
  • Maintain field presence in order to maintain pulse of the project.
  • Recognize and manage jobsite issues as they relate to subcontractors and overall project schedule.
  • Drive efficiency and value changes in the field through recognition of project construction opportunities.
  • Understanding of work flow schedule for projects and what will drive and push the schedule to Cadillac's benefit.
  • Visit job sites & log scope of work for Estimators.
  • Daily communication with Estimators, Project Manager(s), project inspectors, Engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Provide daily field reports to facilitate accurate construction and paving schedules based on conversations with the PM.
  • Participate in discussions with PM and Foreman around paving plan.
  • Assist PM on issues relating to project revenue on as needed basis.

Other Responsibilities
  • Periodically attend project related meetings.
  • Review of previous day's production as it relates to management of the project and schedule.
  • Assist in resolving project related issues.
  • Track and identify project delays and other pertinent project info.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Measure and calculate HMA tonages, yields, and production levels.
    • Computer Experience is a plus
  • 5 yrs. experience in a similar role.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be considered.
  • Work will be performed in an office setting (10%) and outside on multiple job sites (90%). Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, twisting.

Work Environment
  • This position will work the majority of the time in a project field environment but will also include visits to an office for meetings and/or project related functions. Work environment will vary depending on job task. Ideal applicants will be comfortable working in a variety of settings and scenarios to accomplish the required tasks above.
