Job Description Summary:
As PayPal continues grows as a leader in FinTech, we are focused on being data driven in our decision making. To that end we are looking for a proactive, experienced analyst who is comfortable with data and BI Tools to design and deliver strategic insights to the business stakeholders, The role of the Business Insights Analyst comprises of (1) determining the right KPIs to include in the Product & Tech scorecard and dashboards (2) monitor performance of the business groups using the data in the scorecard/dashboards and (3) delivering insights at a regular cadence to business stakeholders empowering them to transform, grow and scale their portfolios.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good business acumen, is passionate about creating innovative analysis to understand trends and identify opportunities and the ability to effectively communicate with different levels of the organization. This role requires business/customer analysis and data visualization. The position requires someone who has been in such roles for 6-7 years, needs moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment, while managing a variety of responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Build a repository of KPIs aligned to the right business by working with data owners
  • Identify KPIs that are aligned with the needs of the business
  • Coordinate input and gather requirements from business stakeholders and work with the BI tool delivery teams to publish KPIs on scorecards/dashboards
  • Manage the overall design aspect of the scorecard/dashboard, training and deployment of the reporting tools [including look and feel, visualization, metric computation, filters, etc.]
  • Conduct data analysis and glean insights, drive closed loop reporting through metric selection, reporting insights, capturing impact through business action.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis to meet business needs, and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
  • Manage the quality control of the scorecards/dashboards including and not limited to the visualization, ensuring functionality is working properly, metrics are displaying correctly and the right KPIs are being surfaced based on business objectives
  • Establish and manage data governance for the KPIs we are displaying on the scorecards and dashboards to ensure quality and proper vetting has occurred prior to publication
  • Responsible for communication and pulling together any presentations needed for stakeholder and executive reviews
  • Deep understanding of Agile Software Development Practices

SKILLS and REQUIREMENTS
  • Comfortable with SQL and can perform analysis with Tableau, PowerBI and other BI tools
  • Strong Data Visualization skills
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts
  • Good data manipulation experience
  • Good business, marketing, and financial acumen.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in data analysis/business intelligence
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Can process high volume of information and distill the information down to root cause(s)
  • Analytical and capable of telling stories using data
  • Strong collaborative skills with a track record of establishing confidence in insights provided.
  • Be results-oriented, persistent, and meticulous
  • Ability to work cross functionally
  • Ability to translate requirements to the BI team to develop scorecards/dashboards
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills, sets and meets deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • MS Office Skills
  • Experience working for a banks/ financial institutions and focused on digital [FinTech] would be a plus
