Academic Req: High School Diploma or GED
Work experience: Minimum of two years building maintenance experience.
Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables:
1. Performs general facility maintenance and repair, including repairing woodwork; replacing electrical switches, fixtures, and motors; painting, repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems; and replacing broken glass.
2. Examines facility exterior and interior, and grounds; performs maintenance and minor repairs.
3. Performs weekly door and other safety audits as required.
4. Advises supervisor on all detected significant facility repairs.
5. Conducts all repairs as assigned by work order or supervisor.
6. Communicates with maintenance vendors and contractors and shares information effectively and timely with campus administration.
7. Assists with moving furnishings like desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc.
8. Moves, installs, assembles, and repairs all furniture and playground equipment when requested.
9. Installs wall hangings, mirrors, blackboards, bulletin boards, projection screens, towel dispensers, soap dispensers, and other items as requested.
10. Installs door and window assemblies and hardware, including window glass and screens.
11. Installs ceiling and flooring materials.
12. Transports equipment and furniture as needed between facilities.
13. Uses equipment and tools following safety guidelines.
14. Follows safety guidelines and techniques to accomplish job duties, including lifting.
15. Keeps work area free of unsafe conditions and informs supervisor of problems that cannot be immediately corrected.
16. Keeps tools and equipment in optimum working order through required preventative maintenance.
17. Work on multiple projects and tasks within a given time.
18. Collaboratively work with others.
19. Maintain emotional control under stress.
20. Frequent interruptions and deadlines.
Requirements:
1. Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing.
2. Frequent lifting 10-45 pounds.
3. Infrequent lifting of more than 45 pounds, with assistance.
4. Frequent exposure to temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, and noise.
5. Frequent exposure to biological hazards.
6. Daily attendance and punctuality are essential functions.
7. Valid driver's license
