RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Automotive Clay Modeler in Warren, MI.Duties Include:Creative Clay Sculptor:- Working by hand
- Working with Automotive design engineers
- Team collaboration
- Working with customer
- Interior and exterior modeling
- Work by changing the surface constantly
- Constant changes to improve the design
- Willing to be open to on-the-spot changes
- Working with the digital sculptors who scan the clay molds
- Working from the beginning to end
- Looking at the sketch and making it in 3D form
- Making the design more realistic and making improvements on it
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, Sculpture, Ceramics, or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of experience required
- Ability to create clay models by developing aesthetic surfaces which meet time and quality requirements as directed by sculpting and design leadership
- Ability to work in a group situation, collaborating with design and engineering stakeholders
- Ability to follow established modeling best practices and procedures while contributing to the execution of property plans
- Expert knowledge of hard modeling, Automotive engineering, Sculpting, Clay Modeling, Form and Line development, 3D Models, Surfacing
- Ability to create manufacturable math and 3D models (die pulls, draft angles, and part breakups) and present to leadership
- Ability to use clay modeling equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and/or engineering drawings
- Ability to interface with engineering criteria
- Basic knowledge of UG
- Alias and animation experience
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with various email communication tools (i.e., Yahoo, Lotus Notes)
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
- Advanced ability to identify issues, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using root cause analysis
- Thorough understanding and abilities in surface, form, and line development
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
- Possesses interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
- Embraces latest ideas and continuous improvement initiatives
- Always exhibits a safety mindset
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
