This is what you will do:

We are seeking a motivated Associate Scientist III to work in our multidisciplinary and collaborative Small-Molecule Research team. This individual will conduct laboratory experiments and generate and interpret scientific data as part of our discovery process leading to development of small-molecule drugs for rare diseases.

You will be responsible for:

  • Serving as a key member of the small-molecule biology team.
  • Performing laboratory assessments of small-molecule compound activity and selectivity by in vitro methods such as biochemical assays, cell-based assays, and cell free assays.
  • Analyzing results of laboratory assays and delivering reliable and timely results.
  • Developing new assays and troubleshooting existing assays as needed for progress of discovery projects, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Working collaboratively with fellow team members, maintaining laboratory equipment and infrastructure, and performing other activities as needed.
  • Preparing protocols and study reports as assigned.
  • Actively participating in team meetings to discuss project findings and next steps.

You will need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience in academic or pharmaceutical industry research, or a Master's degree with 1-3 years of experience in academic or pharmaceutical industry research.
  • Demonstrated laboratory experience and skills at performing in vitro reactions and assays.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to multi-task and function independently within a team context.
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in a lab environment. As is typical of a lab-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: lift/carry 15/30 pounds unassisted/assisted; work comfortably in a controlled environment with and around biological, infectious, and hazardous materials; gown/degown PPE; use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours

We would prefer for you to have:
  • Experience in drug discovery and/or assay development.
Strong learning agility and desire to learn new techniques
