The Associate Director (AD) Capability Building for Medical Oncology MSL Training is responsible for managing the development and implementation of a fully integrated scientific and professional development training curriculum for US Medical, with a special focus on Oncology Field Medical (Medical Science Liaisons (MSL)).This person will have responsibility for strategic planning and implementation of world-class product and skill-based training, via eLearning, live meetings, virtual training, and on-demand training courses.

Responsibilities:

include the management of a comprehensive scientific and technical training curriculum, the development and approvals of training materials, management of atraining budget, and compliant execution of training programs. The position reports to the Director, Capability Building | Engagement and Events for Oncology. The role requires the ability to identify learning needs (role-specific), build annual strategic and tactical learning plans, build impactful content using the right medium, deploy scalable learning interventions that engage the learner, and track associated performance metrics. To deliver on this mandate, the AD should closely collaborate and align with Field Medical Leadership (especially the National Field Medical Director) and each of the medical directors leading each of our oncology assets. The AD must have cutting-edge knowledge of the fully integrated scientific and professional development training curriculum for US Medical Affairs, as well as best practices in adult learning, skill development, online and virtual delivery methods, performance consulting, and learning assessment. Responsibilities:

Act as a leader in the development and execution of comprehensive strategic and tactical plans to support the short- and long-term capability-building objectives of the Field Medical Teams. This includes design, development, and delivery of all content, as well as possessing a continuous improvement mindset:Lead for New Hire Classes. Develop and deliver training sessions and assessments by facilitating the most appropriate format for new hire training purposes - all phases.Lead the design, development, and implementation of all Field Medical training materials and training logistics on new hire training, advanced training, capability-building meetings, and partnering with other capability-building team members.Collaborate with external healthcare providers, advocacy, consultants and/or other advisors to build and deliver trainingprograms; ensure all training materials are approved via the appropriate review channel.Provides training to key internal stakeholders to build knowledge, awareness and expertise on new data and scientific information on a consistent basis, in order to drive effective scientific exchange with external healthcare providers, their multidisciplinary team members, as well as board members of professional medical associations (i.e., NCCN)Focus on Field Medical functions, in support of US Medical plans to drive effective scientific exchange with healthcare providers, payers, and customers.Maintain a scientific repository of product and therapeutic area materials used for training purposes that is easily accessible to field-based staff; leverage the Global Learning Management System to document training events and record trainingtests, surveys or other information in an auditable manner.Track evolution of best practices in the field of adult learning and develop medical product information and stay informed on scientific trends and competition.Conduct training needs assessments, gap analysis, and performance consulting with key stakeholders regularly. Manage Medical review process for all Capability Building training materials.Monitors the effectiveness of programs and resources against stated objectives and continuously improves the learning curricula, course content, training approach, system, and delivery. Establish and implement key metrics to track and communicate the level of value and impact of capability-building training and development initiatives to all stakeholders. Conduct regular field visits to ensure the accuracy and relevance of training efforts.Select and manage all vendors and external partners, SOWs, and a targeted budget; partner with subject matter experts and other internal and external resources to implement and deploy learning initiatives.Other related duties as assigned.

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD, PharmD, or MD with 3+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry .Field experience required. Up to 10-15% domestic US and/or international travel with required travel to home office as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years medical training experience preferred. Instructional Design and Performance Consulting experience preferred.Experience Scientific and/or clinical experience within Oncology, specifically Lung, Bladder, & Head and Neck cancer is strongly preferred.Proven experience in healthcare communications and interpreting scientific information. Experience working in medical area for both pre-launch and in-line brands.Thorough understanding of regulatory authorities, legal, and industry guidelines, and requirements related to the practice of medical and drug information in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.Demonstrates strong presentation and moderator/facilitator skills with an ability to translate medical information into succinct and impactful messages; ability to present to all levels of the organization to individuals and groups, as well as respond succinctly and clearly to any questions and challenges while presenting.Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) business writing skills. Location:Preferred location for the Associate Director Capability Building Medical Oncology is the Greater Boston, MA area, or remote work with business and home office travel required.
