Job Summary:

The Department of Graduate Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for the Associate Chair of Clinical Education and Clinical Assistant Professor (NTT). Rank is negotiable based on experience.

This position is part of a dynamic leadership team in the Graduate Nursing Department which focuses on providing high-quality nursing programs. Candidates should show evidence of progressive leadership experience and are expected to contribute to the academic and scholarly goals of the university and college. They will oversee the daily operations of the clinical placement and coordination team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervision and oversight of faculty-student placement support and placement process

2. Supervision and oversight of the clinical coordination team and the clinical coordination process

3. Supervision and oversight of the contracts team and the contracts process

4. Clinical placement and clinical clearance process monitoring and improvement.

5. Ensuring processes are aligned with accreditation standards.

6. Coordinating processes between the contracts team and the clinical coordination team

7. Serving as a resource to program directors, clinical faculty, and the clinical coordination team.

8. Assisting with the development and maintenance of clinical policies and procedures

9. Monitoring and documenting BON rules and regulations as they relate to graduate nursing program operations.

10. Assist with annual reports, quality monitoring of preceptors and sites, and recruitment of new sites and preceptors.

11. Assume responsibility for and/or participate in the planning and organization of courses to which assigned.

12. Plan professional development activities for self, such as continuing education offerings, workshops, and professional meetings.

13. Participate in program, college, and university committees, and other activities associated with professional status.

14. Maintains membership in and participates in professional associations by serving on local/state committees of professional organizations.

15. Incorporates new knowledge and techniques in online, clinical, classroom, and laboratory teaching.

Required Qualifications:

1. Doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD) or related field (e.g., EdD)2. Unencumbered RN license in the State of Texas or ability to obtain a Texas RN license.3. A minimum of one year of leadership experience4. A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

1. One year of academic leadership experience2. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Licensure with 2 years of clinical experience3. Experience with clinical placement and clearance requirements in a graduate nursing program4. Experience with interpreting and applying BON Rules and Regulations

Department Information:

The Department of Graduate Nursing is one of three academic departments within the CONHI. The department offers an MSN in Nursing Education, an MSN in Nursing Administration, seven nurse practitioner tracks, a Doctor in Nursing Practice, and a Ph.D. in Nursing. Programs are offered online and in a hybrid format. The Associate Chair of Clinical Education will report to the Department Chair.
